There’s a new reason to pop up in Downtown Atlanta this summer. On Saturday, June 7th, Central Atlanta Progress will launch the Downtown Pop Up Shops, featuring 14 merchants who will be taking over vacant storefronts along Atlanta’s Streetcar route.
Central Atlanta Progress coordinated free space for the selected retailers, and received more than 100 applications to fill the empty storefronts. The chosen merchants received a $500 grant from CAP to kick-start their operations, and will have the option of signing a permanent lease at the end of the three months.
Downtown Pop Up retailers include: Sock Fancy, ModernTribe, Arbitrary Living, Just Add Honey Tea Company, The Byrd’s Box, Brixtix Bakery for Dogs, Connections, The Indie Craft Experience, Fresh.i.Am., Civil Bikes, Rob Simmons Gallery, Fallen Arrows, and Bliss In Me Meditation. For more on the route and each retailer’s location visit www.DowntownPopUpShops.com or click here for an interactive map.
To celebrate the kickoff of the Downtown Pop Up Shops, Central Atlanta Progress in conjunction with Creative Loafing will host a Grand Opening Celebration and Shop Crawl on Saturday, June 7th. From 4pm to 9pm there will be in-store giveaways, food, drinks, music and more. For information visit the grand opening party’s Facebook page.
The Downtown Pop Up Shops will be open to the public through August.
